Hi, I’m Adam Oke, a passionate pilot who loves low and slow flying, grass strips, and the smell of bacon on the ramp.
I began flying at age 16 and kicked off my career by age 18 in Red Lake, Ontario on the dock and flying a C180 on floats. I moved on to become a crop duster pilot for a decade in Manitoba, and now I fly passengers on the B737-8 MAX based in Kitchener, Ontario. Over the last two decades, I have accumulated 7000+ hours, with roughly 3000 on taildraggers. My heart lives on conventional gear and finding grass strips.
Like many pilots, I’ve discovered some of my favorite places by word of mouth, flying into random grass strips, and by cold calling numbers in the CFS. Finding a quiet airport that allows underwing camping, seeking out those breakfast and BBQ events, and knowing where those friendly airports with local things to see and do can be a challenge. This site was born from a simple idea: what if we had one place to share them all?
I built STOL STOP Fly-In Finder to make it easier for pilots to:
Find memorable destinations to fly into
Connect with the GA community
Share their own hidden gems with fellow aviators
When I’m not flying for fun with the family, I’m likely tinkering with gear, planning the next grass strip to drop into, or helping others find the joy of adventure flying.
Thanks for being here and for helping grow this grassroots guide to aviation’s best kept secrets.
Blue skies,
Adam D. Oke
